I first discovered Anne Rice in 1985, following the release of The Vampire Lestat. At the recommendation of a friend, I purchased this book, along with the first book of the Vampire Chronicles, Interview With A Vampire. After reading the first chapter of Interview, I was so absorbed by the story that I had to literally force myself to put down the book. I devoured both books within days, and from that point forward became a huge fan of Anne Rice.

It was ten years after reading Interview and Lestat that I finally got the opportunity to meet Anne Rice in person at a St. Louis book signing. My book collection had grown to include her entire Vampire Chronicles, Witching Hour series, Sleeping Beauty trilogy, as well as her non-supernatural and erotica books.
